Terms & Conditions
Last updated: March 2026 · Governed by UK Law
1. Proof of Work & Dispute Protocol
To protect all users and maintain platform integrity, a completed job must meet the following criteria:
Physical Work
A mandatory photo upload and GPS check-out are required to mark a physical trade as complete.
Digital / Consulting Work
Completion is evidenced by in-app call logs, screenshots, or a 4-digit confirmation code exchanged between users.
Rating Disputes
Users have 7 days to dispute a rating. Trade4Trade acts as the final arbiter. Where Proof of Work (GPS, photo, or confirmation code) is present and a rating is deemed retaliatory, Trade4Trade reserves the right to strike that rating from the Provider's profile.
2. Credit Gifting & Accumulation
Trade4Trade operates a credit-based ecosystem with the following rules:
Unlimited Stacking
Users may accumulate credits without limit. Credits hold no cash value and cannot be exchanged for GBP, meaning Trade4Trade does not operate as a financial institution under UK law.
Gifting
Verified subscribers may transfer (gift) earned credits to other verified users. Gifted credits retain their original 6-month expiry date from the day they were first earned by the original Provider. This prevents expiry-washing — credits cannot be gifted solely to reset the expiry timer.
3. Subscription Pause & Expiry Rules
Pause Policy
Users may pause their active subscription for a maximum of 3 months per calendar year.
Credit Expiry Freeze
When a subscription is paused, the 6-month countdown for credit expiry is also paused. The countdown resumes the moment the subscription is reactivated.
Access During Pause
Users cannot earn, spend, or gift credits while their subscription is paused.
4. Stripe Identity Verification & UK GDPR
Verified-Only Access
No user may earn, spend, or gift credits until they have successfully completed Stripe Identity verification. Unverified accounts have read-only access to the platform.
Data Handling
Trade4Trade does not store biometric or identity document data. All identity verification is processed and stored exclusively by Stripe, Inc. in accordance with their own privacy policy. This limits Trade4Trade's liability under UK GDPR in the event of a data breach at the verification stage.
5. Liability & The Direct Contract
Platform Role
The agreement to exchange services is a private contract between the two users. Trade4Trade provides the ledger, matching, and verification infrastructure only. We are not a party to any service agreement and accept no liability for personal injury, property damage, professional negligence, or financial loss resulting from a trade conducted via the platform.
User Indemnity
By using Trade4Trade, users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trade4Trade, its directors, employees, and affiliates against any claim, loss, or legal action arising from services they provide through the platform — including but not limited to faulty workmanship, professional advice, or property damage.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
By using Trade4Trade, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
